Initiation Gate
In the Initiation Phase, sufficient requirements detail is developed to support the preliminary cost and schedule estimates, alternatives analyses, and other elements of the preliminary business justification and preliminary Project Management Plan. The primary outcome of the Initiation Phase is the proposal and approval of the cost, schedule and performance baselines.
The Initiation Phase Stage Gate Review considers three deliverables and whether they justify proceeding to the Planning Phase:
- Business Need Statement
- Project Charter
- Preliminary Project Management Plan
